French Gathering by Ghosty

((((((Ghosty & Vesna))))))
Thank you for sharing your trip with us :)

SUNDAY Last Day
Time to go back to Vienna, READY for my boys have missed them a lot. On the last day Christian started a flea market tour with some of us. The start was at 10 o´clock in the morning, but I was not ready to go because I slept a little bit longer and had to pack all of my stuff. When we finished we left the hotel and met Willi and Renate at the flea market.
The Paris flea market is really nice. You can find there all your heart wishes from old toys to castle furniture, everything is there. I thought there will be no PEZ for me because all the collectors were there but I had really good luck. In a toy shop I found Dumbo and Wile E Coyote for 10 Euro each. At the metro station we found Christian then it was time to say good bye.
The Rest of the day, we spent a great time with Egokine and Igor (hope to see you again guys). Later in the evening we traveled together to the airport. At this point, a BIG THANK YOU to Christian for all he has done. The organization, the wonderful dispensers, his help, to get PEZ people all over the world together. I really hope he will do a convention again! I also would like to thank all guests on the convention and my Pez friend, who made this convention so nice and funny for me, that was really an AMAZING PEZ WEEKEND. Last but not least, a big thank you to my wife Vesna (Love you darling) for support and helping me by my collection. The Israeli Pez convention is in two weeks and it is so bad that I can be not there. I am sure it will be also an amazing convention for my Israeli Pez friends.
But soon I will be again on travel, in two months (12th April) on the 8th FINNPEZ convention in Helsinki. Maybe some of you will be there (hope so) Now I´d like to see and kiss my boys.
Have a great Pezitime where ever you are.
Happy PEZZZING from Bunny and Ghosty

Saturday Day 3
Bingo, Spanish Winner Team and French Collectors hit our rooms:
Saturday was the BIG & Funny Day :) We started to play Bingo at 9:30, a lot of French collectors joined our group this day. Christian made it with his friendly french english really funny  for us. Cecilia (Java Ribera's Wife) started to win the first game and she won also the second game. We told her, she was disqualified and she had to leave the room now. No not really, that was just a joke from me  She and Igor Lopez (the Spanish Team) won the best prices (Congratulations to the winner). Everyone could choose their gifts. Cecilia chose a very nice pin Set and the german Soccer Ball Set. Igor chose a Surprise Box, when he opened it, the Finn Pez Gathering polar bear was inside!
Bingo was very bad for me every time, maybe I woke up at the end always  because this time I won the last Bingo game and I was very happy and surprised and I could not choose because I was the last one. But my price was also very nice. I won a Xl Buzz Dispenser and also a Bubble man on Slovenian halo card.
After Bingo, the room hopping started again and lot of great French collectors came to our room. Trades and Pez shopping began in all rooms. Wonderful business went on everywhere.
When the room hopping was finished a small group of us, Cecilia, Shiho, Michael Volk, Igor Lopez and his wife Egokine, my wife Vesna and me went for lunch. We chose Mc Donald’s (the cheapest one) because we bought all to much Pez!
After our lunch we did a great Paris city tour by walk to Notre Dame, Pont des Arts and then to Lovre. This tour was very fun for us, we had such a great time, lot of Pezitalks, and Igor made all the time so many jokes. I will never forget this 20 Minutes, we had to wait under the small Arc de Triomphe until the rain stopped. Our group was on the way to the Disney Store on Champs Élysées, we thought that we maybe could find PEZ there. Nothing from Pez but nice gifts for my boys. A long and great day went over, we took the metro (enough walking for this day) and went back to our hotels. I was really happy because I bought a SwePEZ Truck, so now I only miss one of the 4.

Day 2
Versailles, Test PEZ and PEZ Tattoos
Today we slept enough, and we had a great Breakfast in the morning. Our group is now bigger, Momo from Austria and Sam Mauguin a French Pez collector with Amazing Pez Tattoos! They started with us at 10 o'clock in the morning the Tour to Versailles. It's my 5th time in Paris, but I have never been before seen Versailles, dang Versailles is so amazing, if you visit Paris, Versailles must be on your to do List! Christian is a great host, he checked the entree tickets, the metro tickets for us, so we had no stress with buying tickets, or to wait like the others to go inside to Versailles. He made sure we did not loose anyone along the tour. After a 1 1/2 hour return to the Hotel we were all very exited to open the rooms so the PEZ hunt to begin. OMG i don’t know what I am going to do? I have spent all my money on Pez (my wife will kill me!), we may have to eat all the new Pez Dispensers, or maybe I don't buy so much and we have money to eat something,  no just kidding it’s only a joke.  There were so many nice stuff in the rooms, I realized that I will be soon bankrupt, I bought some nice stuff, but not to much, because I'd like to go in April to the FinnPEZ Gathering, so I had to save my money. Many of the USA Collectors would find here a lot what they  are missing and would love it to be here, so that you can know of what i'm speaking about, I will show you some great Room Pictures. I'm sure you have also found some Pez that you are missing. I spent also a great Time with Sam Mauguin, and he showed me his wonderful tattoos, he is really a nice and funny guy (Thank You for posing for us).
At the end now, I will share with you my PEZ hunts of the day. The Disney planes Set arrived to my Collection, also a Gray and Crystal Minnie & Mickey Mouse from Japan. The craziest thing that I bought today is a PEZ blanket for my Bed, now I can go to sleep and hope I will have sweet PEZ Dreams. Tomorrow it will be again funny, more Friends will come here, Igor Lopez from Spain and other great Pez Collectors are on the way to us. BINGO in the morning, and room hoping through the day… Stay tuned for more details and pics, I wish you a Happy Valentine's Day from Europe's PEZ Hotspot!

Bunny's Day Out :)

YAY!!
Today, I hit Paris for the first French PEZ Gathering with my wife Vesna today in the morning. Here is my report after my last night and my first day in Paris. After a long night, of packing lot of Pez, and thinking what I will take with me, who is looking for what? I have packed 2 big cases, and one smaller one bag, I feel that I found a good mix for everyone, lot of current american stuff, and great Euro stuff  like green stem pumpkin, or pirate treasure, lot of drops packs and lots of crazy stuff like Pez tongue tattoos. I think everyone will find nice things in my room. After a 1:40 h flight from Vienna, we hit Paris at 8 clock in the morning. Soon after we found the hotel, and Christian has waited for us in the hotel lobby. He told us the story about his gathering dispenser, and also that he leaked the picture of the convention dispenser. When I heard, that the dispenser is not just a lame heart, or a ball so then I was really happy.
All of the gathering guests are on the third floor at Novotel Hotel, and we have the Room 303. In the morning, there was just a small number of PEZ guests here, but we have a wonderful time with, Shiho Adachi from Japan (she has brought some really cool licensed pez stuff from Japan, and I must buy some things from her) and Javi Riberas & his wife Cecilia from Spain, also Ron from the United States. After a great lunch, with our new friends, Vesna, Shiho and Cecilia took a trip to the city. We are staying in the hotel, because I have been needing some Pezitime to figured some nice trades or sells out. In the evening a lot more great peziheads will have rooms, have spent nice time with Didier and Mary Ans from Belgium, also Thor from Norway, my great Friends from Vienna Willi & Renate, and Ivan from Slovenia join us in the late evening. Tommorow morning we will have a great Tour to Versailles, we are very exited to see. Saturday will be the BIG FRENCH PEZ Saturday here, a lot of fun things, Bingo in the morning, and a long room hopping day, and more Pez heads like Igor from Spain, Momo from Austria, Sam Mauguin and many other great PEZ Collectors. Coming to my collection is the new Jack and Sully Dispenser they will hit in stores in August, also a new FX Hand. Some great news will follow from the French red carpet tomorrow, so stay tuned same place same blog.

Heart Attack

When I decided to start collecting the Valentines about a month ago, I did not even think about the toll it would take on my health.  Seems since I started this quest I have had more headaches than ever before.  Anyway, I am now up to 81 hearts of the 255 on the wonderful chart that someone created, my copy was taken from Pastor Pez’s Blog.
If you are wanting a chart, send me your address and I will send you one no matter where you live.

Pez in the News

Lately many of my friends on Facebook
have been posting press articles featuring their Pez collections!
To this I say BRAVO!!
Pez Ghosty

Nenad Markov in his apartment in Rudolf -Fuenfhaus : " My dearest Pez candy dispenser is worth 1,500 euros !"

A Viennese spends his spare time collecting candy that does not taste it.
2500 candy dispenser worth 15,000 euros - that is the pride of Nenad Markov . Because the 39- year-old Viennese collects twelve years Pez candies and everything that goes with it : from race cars to key chains , to vitamin tablets. " It's a passion ," says Markov .
It all started at the flea market with a box of Pez dispensers. Meanwhile, Markov is networked with collectors around the world and runs from a Pez meeting to the next. But although he urge his collectors can not agree , one thing is certain for him : Sell it does not want. "I would not have the heart . "

Pez collecting: a reader's story
Don LawsonBoston Collecting Examiner
October 19, 2009
A few weeks ago the subject of this column was PEZ collecting.  A reader, Janice from Sag Harbor, NY, wrote in and shared her story.  It begins with her oldest child’s 100th day of kindergarten.

“I started collecting PEZ when my oldest child Shane, needed to bring 100 items to school on the 100th day of Kindergarten.  As we were looking for 100 things to bring to school, he said, “Can I bring 100 PEZ dispensers?”

I said, “Sure, do you have that many?”

He said, “Let’s count.”  We did.

We had a lot of double PEZ, like Tweety Bird, Sylvester, a couple of Tom and Jerry, The Simpsons, Garfield and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Including holiday PEZ, these made up the the majority of what he had. So after that day of school, I was amazed that we had that many PEZ dispensers just lying around the house.”

Janice goes on to explain how she would buy them around the holidays as a gift for her son or maybe pick one up while shopping to help keep his attention while she looked around.

She is searching for what she feels is one of the hardest dispensers to find, one made by Devlin Studios about eight years ago for FAO Schwartz.  That dispenser is a Swarovski crystal covered Tigger, the tiger from Winnie the Pooh.  She has others in the series: Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, which were crafted by Catherine Bauman, along with Kermit the Frog and Goofy.  All are covered in the Swarovski crystals.

PEZ collection distantJanice also collects different color variations of PEZ dispensers: including the vintage cockatoo, pony-go-round, and cow.

Like many collectors, she always has her eye out whenever she goes shopping, looking for new pieces for sale. She says she has every current PEZ dispenser issued over the past 10 years.  She hopes to someday start adding some more rare pieces which can sell for up to $6000 and more.  There are also some PEZ dispensers that are "one of a kind".

Finally, she is looking forward to attending her first PEZ Convention in April of next year.
Thank you Janice for sharing your collecting story in both words and pictures.
