Ready or NOT

Hi Friends,
We have great new Pezzy things coming next month, The Hobbit set, Halloween set & Candice.  Right now things are crazy around my house as we are having the 2 new Pez cabinets delivered tomorrow and we are no where ready to take delivery. This make 3 cabinets total, the new crown moulding is in, walls are textured and all moulding's are 80% stripped and sanded.  Floors are not installed, windows have not been restored and the rooms are not painted.  Fall is fast approaching. This is turing into a 4 month nightmare, YIKES!

Big THANKS to Create & Barrel for keeping these for the last 139 days.

Candace from Phineas and Ferb is coming out in September, this photo started appearing on Facebook today.  I must say this "Candace" character is the most disappointing PEZ OF 2013.

2013 so far

A pictorial guide for 2013 new Pez.  This list may be incomplete, so as I find them they will be added.

Thanks Jessica for pointing these guys out.

2013 Valentines..  I don't know what they are cause I gave up on those things.....

Thanks Daniel N. for pointing out Monsters pack from Mexico was missing, Shout out to Jessica- Thank You!

Thanks Luís M. for pointing out the Wawa truck & Mario set!

Thanks Nick Pezhead, forgot about Nemo!

Polizist Ferdinand

Polizist Ferdinand is given out to kids which attended road safety course in Austria.  This guy has been on my wish list for months, fetching a high price on eBay in the beginning, the price has slowly come down from $250 to about $125 which has been well out of my price range for a new dispenser.  With a little bit of luck and a nice Facebook friend, Ferdinand is headed to the US. Can't Wait!!

Ecowhimsyart

Hello Friends!
This post has been the most read story on Pez Palz! I thought it needed to be moved back to the Top! So here it is!

Lately I have been attracted to Pez art.  This world is full of fabulous people who make it so beautiful.  While browsing around looking for pez on Etsy I found these fabulous works of art.

After coming across Kristi’s art. I wanted to know what inspired her to reinvent the discarded Pez she finds.  I think her work is brilliant.

Artist: Kristi Slevin-Giesler
Owner of ecowhimsyart on Etsy

As for my inspiration - I am calling this phase in my art my "Pez Period"...lol. I have several pieces that are not even on Etsy and a notebook full of sketches for future pieces. One of my bucket list items is to be in a gallery some day...I am working on that...slowly. For now, I choose to spend the majority of my free time with my two precious little boys...who provide an infinite amount of inspiration but leave me very little time to create and execute - only sketch my musings. :)

It may sound cliche but I truly am inspired by everything and I am easily amused! I am always up for a good pun which I aim to incorporate into my artwork.

My sister and grandmother both collect Pez dispensers so I am always looking to add to their collections. As an avid thrift store shopper, I often come across castaway holiday Pez dispensers. They kind of remind me of the Island of Misfit Toys, tucked away in quarter or fifty cent bags, longing to be of value to someone...again. I thought, I have to put all of these misfit Pez dispensers to use somehow and give them a new value since most collectors only place a value of pennies on these commoners. I started buying them all up when I found them and before long, had a surplus of the little pop culture beauties!!!

I love the color and dimension of Pez, juxtaposed with the reflective properties of the glass within old upcycled frames, for me, creates unique and interactive experiences with each of my art pieces. You can't help but want to touch them, get up close and personal with each piece, explore, be transported back to your childhood, react to the titles, and hopefully, have a good laugh and smile every time you experience them. Each of my Pez pieces reminds me to keep things simple in life, laugh often, repurpose, and unleash that inner child within all of us.

Peace, love, PEZ and upcycle!
Kristi :)

Losing my Mind!

We are still going 90mph on our remodel, which is draining money like crazy. No new pez in my future for a while! This whole process is making me go crazy! I haven't seen my Pez in months!   ARGH!  Anyway, I was able to take a day off to go to the Antique mall and picked up this sailor.  I talked the owner down from $125 to $70.  This makes 3 sailors for my collection.

Cinderella

Turns out that 2 versions of Cinderella was not intentional. Sadly, this is a factory error where her lipstick bled onto her teeth while in paint.  I have looked through hundreds of these girls, looking for the now famous painted mouth without luck.  A lucky few will find her, good luck!

Happy Halloween

This year Pez is adding a Dracula & Ghost to the halloween line up and the ghost, is my FAVORITE of the year!  These are now showing up in stores across America.  If you are a stem collector you surely will be picking all of these guys up this year.

 Favorite Pez of 2013, Ghost!
