Searching pays off

I've been going from Walmart to Walmart searching for the new Princess Cinderella, and while that search turned up nothing I was able to score a Crystal bear from Christmas,  he was way back in the back of a blue Pez box!  The best part of it is he was only 10 cents!

Buyers Beware! Questionable Pez Regulars Flooding Market!!!!!

This morning Pez Candy issued a warning pertaining to the pictured Pez. 

The following is the Alert was posted on Facebook.

There are a lot of advertising regulars & witch regulars that have surfaced again from a seller in the southern California area. The seller claims to have received them from Curt Allina, the former vice president of PEZ and business partner of his.

The dispensers have been offered for sale in the past and were examined by some of the top experts in the PEZ hobby. It was their determination that the dispensers had been printed in more recent times using modern printing techniques. There are characteristics with this group of dispensers that is inconsistent with examples that known to be 100% authentic.

Please be aware this entire group of dispensers is extremely questionable. Some of these dispensers have already been sold to unknowing individuals. 

We have added a section to our website www.pez.com called ‘Buyer Beware!’ to help alert collectors to these type of issues. It can be found under the ‘Collector’s Corner’ tab. We will update it when there are questionable items like this that are brought to our attention.

We suggest buying from reputable dealers who are known throughout the hobby and will stand behind the dispensers they sell should there be an issue.

Heat of the moment

Recently I have been buying more Pez than ever before and have found myself getting caught up in the thrill of adding new ones to the collection and forgetting to take a closer look at the details and maybe, overpaying for things.  Stem swaps and missing parts are probably very obvious things to many collectors however, lately I've been getting caught up and not noticing major problems. Don’t get me wrong I love every dispenser in my collection not matter how flawed it might be. Being new to Facebook there are many people there who know whats up and are very savvy when it comes to buying Pez on places like eBay. If you are a new collector and want everything to be correct and authentic take your time and research what your buying before you shell out big bucks thinking you're getting something original just because someone types it up in a description.  

Here are 2 examples in my collection of incorrect Pez purchased recently.

Road Trip

How far would you drive to buy Pez?  I came across a collection for sale up in Kent, WA 412 miles roundtrip with a stop off in Graham, WA to pick up a garden variety collection um... yeah the typical 45 Santa’s.... anyway,  after much sweet talking to my dear husband ((((((James)))))) and plenty of begging, here we go setting out on a 12 hour trip.  Pictured below is the results of the trip.
